General M.I.S.E. in brief

Maersk International Shipping Education is a 2 year trainee Programme within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group. The Programme combines the practical aspects of international business with a theoretical toolbox. M.I.S.E. trainees are educated as generalists and are hence prepared for a variety of career paths within the different areas of our business.

Established in 1993 the M.I.S.E. Programme has been designed to develop the future leaders of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, a conglomerate involved in shipping, oil- and gas exploration, retailing and production.

M.I.S.E. trainees are all hand-picked and share not only a high potential but also high aspirations. Each year we employ around 300 trainees from more than 80 countries, creating one of the most internationally minded educations in the world.

Our trainees undergo a combination of theoretical and practical training. The theoretical part comprises of subjects such as economics, investment, law and logistics but also tools such as parallel thinking, cultural understanding and time management are part of the curriculum. The practical education is primarily on-the-job training as trainees are given areas of responsibility from the first day of work.

Upon graduation from the M.I.S.E. Programme most of our trainees take advantage of the opportunity to be becoming expatriated to one of our more than 325 offices in more than 125 countries world-wide.
